Glenn Howells Architects and McDowell + Benedetti win contest to design masterplan in Uttoxeter

Glenn Howells Architects and McDowell + Benedetti have beaten a strong field to work on a masterplan for the redevelopment of the JCB heavy products site in Uttoxeter.

The teams fought fierce competition from DEGW, Bauman Lyons Architects, Letts Wheeler Architects and Robert Adam Architects.

Shifting the new, more accessible £40m JCB heavy products business to a site alongside the JCB world parts centre has created the opportunity to develop Uttoxeter town centre and contribute to the renaissance of Uttoxeter.

East Staffordshire borough council has now received outline planning permission for the proposal, which intends to cut heavy goods traffic throughout the Uttoxeter area.
