Student accommodation developer Unite has announced plans to build a 700-bed scheme in Wembley, north London, after acquiring a site from investor Schroders.

The scheme has an estimated development cost of £47m and an opening date target of 2016.

The site in the Wembley Park regeneration area was acquired for £7.4m.

Richard Simpson, managing director of property for Unite, said: “As well as being a key milestone in the group’s development strategy, this site is close to the shops, entertainment and excellent transport links of Wembley Park, including the London Designer Outlet, and will strongly appeal to students.”
