Wakey, wakey: This £30m office and residential development in Wakefield has been granted planning permission. The Cartwright Pickard-designed scheme includes 219 canalside apartments and 155,000 ft2 of office space. A hotel, health club, cafe, bars and rooftop restaurant are also included in the plans. The practice is also producing the detailed designs for the office and hotel element, for which Yorkshire-based Lemmeleg is QS and contractor, Buro Happold is structural and services engineer and landowner Waterside (Wakefield) is developer. The housing element is being developed by Fairclough Homes.
