£56m project will provide 362 PRS flats

John Street, Warrington

Newcastle-based developer The High Street Group has secured planning for a £56m private rented sector apartment project in Warrington.

Warrington Borough Council approved the proposal for John Street, which is close to the railway station, an area undergoing regeneration work.

Work on the eight-storey development, designed by Manchester-based architect Triangle, is expected to begin later this year.

The block will include 362 units – all for private rent – and around 800 car parking spaces. A contractor hasn’t yet been named.

The High Street Group also has planning consent for a £26m, nine-storey, 127-home complex –including town houses and apartments – in Salford, close to Middlewood Locks, where building is expected to commence this summer.

And the group said proposals for a £28m, 10-storey, 156 unit project in Trafford, Manchester are “well advanced”.
