Environmental consultant acquires AHW Consulting Engineers for undisclosed sum

Environmental consultant Waterman Group has boosted its Asia operation with the acquisition of an Australian engineering consultant.

Waterman has bought a 51% stake in AHW Consulting engineers for an undisclosed sum. Melbourne-based AHW posted an operating profit of £620,000 on a turnover of £3.3m for the year ending June 2006 a employs 40 staff.

AHW’s work includes Federation Square in Melbourne, the Alfred Hospital Medical Research & Educational Precinct and Chevron Residential Development consisting of 306 apartments.

The acquisition gives Waterman International Asia division 130 staff in offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Dubai and a combined turnover of £8m.
