Morgan praises strong links with employers as he opens new facility at Yale College

Rhodri Morgan, first minister of Wales, unveiled a new Engineering and Construction Centre at Yale College in Wrexham.

Morgan said: “Construction and engineering skills are an area of high priority in Wales and I’m delighted to see Yale responding positively to today’s labour market in north east Wales in providing a Centre for Excellence offering a wide range of vocational disciplines.”

The £5m facility, funded by the Welsh government, will train students of all ages for jobs in computer aided design, precision engineering and construction and automotive crafts.

Morgan also praised the college’s close relationship with employers including JCB, Scottish Power and Airbus.
