Contractor Killby & Gayford has won a £6m contract from the Royal Society of Medicine to refurbish its headquarters in Wimpole Street in central London. The scheme, designed by MJS Architects, includes a lecture theatre, an extension to the library, the refurbishment of the members' facilities and a revamping of the main reception. Some structural work will also be carried out. Work is due to be completed in July next year, in time for the bicentenary of the society. The project team includes QS Northcroft, structural engineer Waterman Partnership, mechanical engineer Zisman Bowyer & Partners and project manager Arup.
