Architect Studio Egret West has unveiled these images of a 35ha masterplan for the riverside at South Shields, Tyne and Wear.

This terrace, which the architect describes as “like a giant oyster encrusted with barnacles” will be constructed using engineered fill from other large-scale projects in North-East England.
