Contractor wins £6.5m contract in Tipton and £4.5m contract in Wednesbury from Sandwell council.

Contractor Willmott Dixon has won two school projects worth a total of £11m from Sandwell Metropolitan council.

Construction work on the two projects - a £6.5m primary school in Tipton and a £4.5m primary school in Wednesbury - will begin next Spring.

The largest project, Summerhill primary school, involves building a modern school on a new site to replace two existing ones that are being closed and merged. The second project involves the construction of a replacement school for The Priory in Wednesbury, to modernise learning facilities in the area. The scheme will include facilities for pre-school children.

The projects are the latest in a partnership with the council, that has seen Willmott Dixon build one of the UK’s only dedicated new-build special educational needs schools in the area.
