Willmott Dixon Construction reaches financial close on three LIFT schemes in South East London.

Willmott Dixon Construction has secured over £60 million in healthcare work this year under the LIFT programme following financial close on three more schemes in South East London valued at £28 million.

The contracts come after Building Better Health reached agreement with three primary care trusts in Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham to create a LIFT company to upgrade and enhance the Trusts’ community healthcare facilities.

Willmott Dixon Construction is Building Better Health’s design and build partner. The three initial schemes involve building Streatham Primary Care Centre to provide two GP practices and associated primary care facilities, a children’s development centre in Southwark with health and social services under one roof and Waldron Health Centre in Lewisham, which will provide four GP practices, community nursing, plus women and children’s services.

The company is already on site with four projects in London secured by Building Better Health under two separate LIFT agreements and this includes the £18 million Thelma Golding Health Centre in Hounslow, which will be one of the UK’s biggest health centre facilities when completed in 2007.

The others are in Battersea, Carshalton and Acton.
