Contractor is awarded £14.9m contract to built secondary school as part of framework with Cheshire County Council.

Contractor Willmott Dixon Construction has been awarded a £14.9 million contract to build a 900-place secondary school in Macclesfield under its long-term partnering framework with Cheshire County Council.

The school is the centre-piece of the £38 million Macclesfield Learning Zone initiative which will help modernise education facilities by creating the secondary school along with a new College, a new joint Sixth Form College and integrating the existing Park Lane Special School into one large campus. The campus also includes community sports centre and day care nursery.

Prior to starting on site, the company carried our pre-construction services that included design, logistical and costing advice, working closely with key stakeholders from Cheshire County Council, Macclesfield Borough Council and the school.
