WSP has made three senior appointments to its rail team in the UK and internationally.

Darren Brooke has been appointed as project director for WSP’s bid for the Doha Metro Project. He joins WSP from URS Scott Wilson and will relocate to Qatar in the New Year to head up major transport projects.

Ricky Scarff becomes WSP’s head of signaling in the UK, after joining from Parsons Brinckerhoff.

Mark Bonner joins WSP as a technical director leading the firm’s permanent way team. He joins from York-based PBH Rail.

Jason Butterworth, infrastructure director at WSP in the UK said: “These appointments reflect WSP’s rapidly expanding rail business.

“We have developed a strong reputation for station design based on our involvement and success on high profile projects in the UK and abroad.

“We are now looking to expand our wider rail services, including electrification, signalling and rail design, to offer a complete service in this sector. Recruiting the specialist skills into the business to help us achieve this vision is core to our growth strategy.”
