Clare Bates talks to Opus 4 Integrated's Mark Arcari about the small company with big dreams
Opus 4 Integrated is a small support services company with big plans. The Woking-based company aims to grow from a £5m business to a £20m business, organically over the next few years. Recently appointed sales and marketing director Mark Arcari believes the target is not unrealistic given the client growth the company is currently experiencing.

In view of the forecast recession, which could threaten to reduce business levels in the company's real estate services, and design and construction divisions it is the facilities management unit that is expected to catalyse growth.

'We are actively targeting private sector companies that want to look after their staff, environment and culture and are looking for a workplace solution,' said Arcari.

In 2001, Opus 4 expects to manage over £50m of facilities management services for 20 corporate clients.

In the UK, Opus 4 has contracts with Otis, Bax Global, BP and Gillette. The contract with lift and escalator manufacturer Otis Plc has run since the company was in its infancy. Similarly it has a long-standing relationship with transport and supply chain company Bax Global at Heathrow. The current five-year contract is worth about £1.3m per annum.

At the Gillette headquarters in Isleworth, Middlesex, Opus 4 provides facilities management and operates a churn contract handling office and factory moves.

Opus 4 also operates in Europe where it plans to use its design solutions business to roll out facilities management services.

It is negotiating a deal with a big French corporate, but declined to reveal the identity of the company.

In 2000, Opus 4 was commissioned by EDS to help with due diligence ahead of the signing of a seven-year outsourcing agreement with Hungary's leading telecoms company Matav.
