The Government and the Learning Skills Council have announced that NG Bailey is among the first five companies to be awarded a work-based Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) status. It is the first m&e engineering company in the UK to achieve the accolade.
Martin Bailey, managing director of NG Bailey said: “We are delighted to be recognised by government for our training excellence. The success and reputation of NG Bailey is rooted in the calibre and commitment of its staff. Each year the company invests more than £3 million in training and career development. The extra government funding is a welcome addition to our important training fund and will help enhance our training programmes further.”

The new work-based CoVEs will build on 85 college-based centres that specialise in providing individuals with specialist skills in a range of occupations from computing to construction.

Bryan Sanderson, chairman of the Learning and Skills Council, commented: “The five organisations announced today have identified that training their workforce is an essential part of their business. The more employers invest in training and develop their employees, the more secure and successful their businesses will be. I urge business to get involved in this venture.”
