Surveillance capabilities at Sydney Airport have been substantially upgraded with the installation of NiceVision 2, the latest version of NICE's advanced digital video recording system.
Previously employing analogue technology, owners The Sydney Airport Corporation (SAC) were attracted by the functionality of the NICE system – in particular its pre and post-alarm recording capabilities and 'scalability'.
The SAC's 144 cameras are dedicated to recording events at Sydney Airport's most critical access points, while the NiceVision set-up has been integrated with an event management system – Honeywell's EBI – and a state-of-the-art matrix switcher supplied by Ultrak (the Max100).
SAC manages the four Sydney Basin airports of Sydney (Kingsford Smith) Airport, Bankstown Airport, Hoxton Park and Camden Airports. Its core business comprises the (security) management of four distinct business units, namely aviation, retail, property and commercial trading.
