Nice One slogan and website to adorn Luton shirts

In a move designed to increase exposure for NICEIC contractors and links into the local community, NICEIC has announced it will be sponsoring Luton Town Football Club for the 2009/10 season.

Home and Away shirts will carry NICEIC’s “Nice One” slogan and niceic.com website and will be seen at all league and cup matches Luton Town play this season.

The new kit will be unveiled at Luton Town’s friendly versus Manchester United on 28 July 2009.

“We’re delighted that NICEIC has chosen to sponsor Luton Town,” says Nick Owen, Luton Town chairman. “We’re fighting for promotion from the Blue Square Premier League and this season the football club has entered a new era thanks to the support of our fans and sponsors.”

“NICEIC’s affiliation with Luton Town will have significant benefit for registered contractors, as the brand will be seen by media, supporters and followers of football all season,” explains Emma McCarthy, chief operating officer, NICEIC Group. “The sponsorship deal also allows us to support a football club which is forging strong links in the local community.”

The club has an illustrious history, with great players such as Ricky Hill, Steve Foster, the current manager Mick Harford and Brian Stein pulling on the shirt. Luton Town beat Arsenal to lift the 1988 Littlewoods Cup and also have the record of having the only player to score 10 goals in one match – Joe Payne against Bristol Rovers in 1936. Last season Luton Town took 40,000 to Wembley to see the team win the Johnstone Paints trophy.

The Hatters kick off their season away at AFC Wimbledon and, as one of the biggest clubs ever to play at this level of football, are one of the favourites for promotion straight back into League Two.
