CIBSE's nominations panel has the task of identifying candidates for election as Institution officers, Board and Council members, and for the Institution's honours and awards.
The panel meets annually during the summer and is always looking for new candidates.
Each year, there are vacancies for members of all grades to be elected to serve on the governing body of the Institution - the CIBSE Board. Council has an important role as a consultative body, and candidates for elected positions on both bodies will be needed. If you can help by suggesting one or more candidates for consideration, please put them forward - either through your local regional committee or CIBSE Group; through any current member of Council; or to the chief executive at CIBSE headquarters.
We are particularly keen to encourage younger candidates and to make sure that all sections of the industry are represented.
The nominations panel also considers nominations for the Institution's range of honours and awards: Honorary Fellowship and Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals. If you are not familiar with the critieria for these awards, there is a guidance document available for Members on the CIBSE website (follow the link from the award winners page within the "About CIBSE" section).
Nomination forms must be completed for all candidates for awards and supported by five CIBSE members. The forms can be downloaded from the same section of the website. Alternatively, contact Janet Wigglesworth at CIBSE headquarters to receive copies of the guidance notes and form.
• All nominations for awards, and suggestions for membership of the Board and Council must be received by 30 April.
