Northern Rock is stepping up its security as 2020 Vision carries out a £120,000 revamp to upgrade surveillance facilities.
A state of the art CCTV control room will be installed, incorporating a GUI which will enable a proactive patrol of sites, using a series of geographical maps displaying the locations of all connected cameras.
All maps and images from the site's 100-plus cameras will be displayed onto a 70-inch video wall, having previously used conventional CCTV monitors.
Northern Rock assistant director of premises, Damon Kent, said: "We're really excited about the revamp. We've always believed security is paramount to our business because of the high numbers of people present at our sites. The new control measures can only benefit our customers and staff alike."
2020 vision is also planning a similar upgrade for Newcastle University. Each control room will create new jobs, as trained operators will be required to supervise each control room.
