Nottingham City Council's Homewatch initiative has won this year's Institute of Maintenance and Building Management's (IMBM) Security and Protection Award.
Sponsored by property protection expert, Orbis, the scheme offers tenants the choice of intruder alarms, security lighting and heavy duty locks for doors and windows.

Since the Homewatch scheme was begun in 1994, the council has secured 10,000 properties. Orbis has sponsored the award for three years. Last year, Calderdale council won the award for a £9 million regeneration project using 'Secured by Design' principles.
