The Systems Silver scheme has seen annual growth of more than 50 per cent, even though a number of companies have progressed to the NACOSS Gold scheme. Over 100 companies have now been approved and many others are currently in the application process.
Chief executive Tom Mullarkey commented: "More and more providers of security and fire services appreciate the importance of achieving the highest standards through a well-recognised, independent approvals body with strong stakeholder support.
"The market is shifting towards NSI approval, offering customers stronger arguments to shortlist only those companies which have made the grade."
The NSI received a vote of confidence from approved companies who attended a ground-breaking 'Relationship' Awayday at Hellidon Lakes, Daventry. Senior staff at MD/Quality Manager level from a cross-section of NSI-approved companies – including those which had publicly voiced criticism of NSI – were invited to attend the event, which focused on NSI's relationship with them.
Key topical questions were discussed in smaller workshops before invitees presented views and judgments to an audience consisting of their peers and NSI staff. The message was: "Keep promoting the highest standards and operating the toughest inspection regime."
