There was no discussion of the alternatives to eviction that might have helped Helen. Her neighbours and, it seems, Greenwood, didn't care what happened to her as long as it wasn't anywhere near them.
Nowhere in the article does it mention any help or support being offered to Helen in the form of counselling, drug rehabilitation therapy or the like. Did the housing officer find out why Helen didn't turn up to appointments? How does Greenwood know that Helen "probably went home to her mother"? It is entirely possible that she didn't find alternative accommodation and became homeless, or, even worse, turned to her drug dealer for help and is now further embroiled in drugs and prostitution.
