As part of the company’s ongoing research AND development into CCTV video surveillance solutions, Siemens Building Technologies Fire & Security Products has launched the CCDA camera in both day/night and colour options.
Suitable for applications from supermarkets and retail complexes through to town centres, hospitals and prisons, the cameras offer 360 degree operation for improved field of vision over and above standard PTZs – thus reducing the number of cameras needed to monitor a given area.
Camera operators are able to spot and track criminal or suspicious activity with ease via controls which provide fast (presets at 280 degrees per second) yet smooth panning and zoom capabilities. The dome can also perform a ‘patrol’ of any given site through programmable pattern facilities, while the end user has the option of linking an alarm input to a preset position to provide automatic movement of the dome and view the alarm situation.
Available in CCDA 1415-DN (day/night) and CCDA 1410 colour options, the domes are manufactured with darkened ‘bubbles’ such that would-be criminals cannot determine which way the lens is pointing.
The day/night camera features an infrared cut filter, ensuring that monitoring will be effective even in low light conditions. It also offers 23x optical zoom (with electronic zoom providing selectable magnification up to 184x), continuous auto-focus and backlight compensation as standard.
Meantime, there are two options with the 1410 model: the ID (indoor dome) and WD (weather dome). Both feature a colour camera with 16x optical zoom and more than 450 lines TV resolution.
