Personal details
Saba Choudhury
New job:
Regeneration and business initiatives manager, London and Quadrant Housing Trust
Old job:
Regeneration manager, north Thames development services, Metropolitan Housing Trust
First housing job:
Administration officer in Haringey council’s temporary accommodation team
How she got there:
“I graduated with an English degree, but I knew I wanted to go into a more ‘real’ line of work, so I decided on a masters in housing at the London School of Economics. “I worked for a number of housing associations in London, and even had a spell at the National Housing Federation. I worked in new business for a while and moved into regeneration to widen the range of activities that I could get involved in. “Making a move to L&Q appealed to me because of the range of work the group does, offering me the chance to expand my knowledge. “The regeneration team works with other agencies to look at ways of moving into different areas and types of regeneration. I enjoy the depth and breadth of a multi-disciplinary approach.”
Driving force:
“To decipher consultants’ jargon – and to learn to bake the perfect chocolate cake.”
