One of the North of England’s largest local authorities is currently approaching the end of an assessment for an advanced video entry system produced by access control product specialist Videx Security.
The trial is taking place at a low-rise block of flats belonging to Leeds City Council where the tenants have suffered many nuisance calls, as well as problems with hoax callers and unauthorised individuals trying to gain access.
The property – in St Albans Approach – previously featured a six-way audio entry system which failed to offer adequate security or flexibility.
Installed to replace this arrangement, the Videx VX2200 system – together with video handsets – allows occupants to verify a caller’s identity both verbally and visually.
The 901 Series handsets operate the door release, and also have a privacy button with LED monitoring indicator light.
Occupants can only view the entrance video picture when they are called.
