Once more with feeling: Metropolitan Housing Trust and developer Bellhouse Joseph have submitted a revised outline planning application for the renewal of west Hendon in London.

After criticism of the design, the height of the tallest towers has been reduced from 23 storeys to 19 and the frontage has been pulled back from the Welsh Harp lake. Under the scheme, 2171 homes will be built, of which about 700 will be affordable.

The project has been designed by HTA Architects and is due to start on site in 2006. It will be completed by 2014.
