The BSIA has dedicated an area of its web site to the new European Standards for intruder alarms.
The web area provides useful, practical information on the new standards, including a number of advice and guidance documents. There is a FactSheet containing basic information for end users on the changes and various interpretation documents that clarify the new standards for both security installers and alarm system manufacturers.
Kay Wright – the BSIA’s media and PR manager – comments: “The introduction of European Standards for intruder alarms was a key development for the sector in 2005. We have endeavoured to keep our members up-to-date with all of the very latest information, and have produced a number of essential documents to assist them and their customers.
“Placing these documents together in one area on the BSIA web site means that we have now effectively created a ‘one-stop shop’ for information on these standards. Hopefully, this will prove to be an invaluable educational tool for practitioners operating in the intruder alarms sector, in addition to their clients who work across a wide range of vertical markets.”
