For the third time in succession, Movement for Innovation demonstration projects have significantly outperformed industry averages against all key performance indicators.
KPI data collected from 99 M4I demonstration projects showed that the application of Rethinking Construction principles enhanced performance, particularly resulting in a smaller number of accidents and greater predictability. Also in terms of defects, M4I projects outperformed the industry average by 30%, and reported results were significantly ahead of the Egan target.

Productivity has risen on M4I projects. There is less reworking due to defects, and projects are completed within agreed timescales. The demonstration projects are being delivered for lower costs than last year.

Alan Crane, chairman of Rethinking Construction says: "It is plain to see that the M4I performance indicators clearly demonstrate the real business benefits of engaging in best practice principles. The sooner the industry recognises that these demonstration projects are the way forward, the sooner our industry will become world class."
