Outsourcing: All in favour do say 'aye'

One delegate to the 'The benefits of outsourcing — myth or reality?' workshop said that 'outsourcing is one of the best things to happen to facilities management as a profession.'

Profectus managing director Graham Riche asked 50 delegates whether outsourcing was beneficial. Just two said that they thought outsourcing was a bad idea. Five abstained and the rest voted in support of outsourcing.

Many of the delegates said their experience of outsourcing in their organisations had been positive. It had helped them better identify their needs and promoted internal change. Others said bringing experts on board, especially in specialist areas such as catering, had helped.
