The Supervisory Panel for 'A Contract of Substance' (SMT, April 2002, pp20-23) – an industry-led scheme welcomed by SMT and aimed at raising standards in the contract manned guarding sector – has been announced for the period until 31 December 2003.
The Panel Members representing the industry's lead bodies are: David Dickinson (chief executive, BSIA), Patrick Somerville (chief executive, IPSA), Tom Mullarkey (chief executive at the NSI), Mike Welply (chief executive, JSIC) and Raymond Clarke (chief executive of SITO, the industry's NTO).

The contract guarding fraternity is represented by Phillip Ullmann (group managing director at Securiplan), John Wright (managing director, Trident Safeguards), John Legge (managing director of Whitehall Security), Stewart Lowden (director, Wilson James) and Patrick Dealtry, director at The Corps.

Speaking for the clients are Tom Jones (CISCO Systems), Geoff Whitfield (GlaxoSmithKline), Mike Britnell (Johnson Controls), Keith Bentley (The Oracle) and Nick Startup of UBS Warburg.
