Passivent technology has been employed in the construction of a new educational facility to replace a Victorian school in Chesterfield. The £2.5 million Hollymoorside School is using modern environmental design to achieve light, airy and well-ventilated classrooms. In the 13 classrooms there are 53 energy saving trickle ventilators and opening windows, to introduce fresh air into the rooms. High-level windows combine with ventilators in the corridor to increase natural daylight and remove stale air. In the assembly hall, four 800 mm Passivent DAD Pyramid Airscoops were used. The Airscoops use wind power to draw fresh air into the building and expel 'used' air.
