his masterplan for a 595-home development by Sunderland Housing Group has been submitted for planning approval. If it gets the go-ahead, £50m will be invested in the Pennywell district. The scheme will include 420 new homes for rent and 180 for sale under Sunderland’s Pathway Homes brand. A total of 593 properties will be cleared to make way for the development. A decision on the masterplan is expected from Sunderland council in February.
