The executive chairman of integrated property solutions company, Connaught has resigned after less than two months due to a 'conflict of interest.'
David James, formerly deputy chief executive at WS Atkins resigned on 5 July. A company statement said James and the board reached the decision after a 'review of strategy' unearthed a 'potential conflict between the future direction of the company and some of Mr James' 'other interests.'
An industry source believes that James' departure is the result of another job offer.
Connaught is already in the market for a replacement for James. In the interim his predecessor Bob Henry will fill the position. The company declined to comment further.
