Tim Gerrard has been appointed managing director group services at DTZ Holdings. Formerly of PA Consulting, Tim is responsible for marketing, IT, HR and facilities functions, and will be based at the firm's Curzon Street headquarters.

Emily Adcock has been promoted to associate director (asset management) at Insignia Richard Ellis. Emily, who specialises in the asset management of multi-let properties, joined the company in January 1999. She has successfully managed a range of portfolios for clients including pension funds and property companies.

Knight Frank has expanded its asset and facilities management department with the following appointments to the team: Jonathan Boyle joins as asset manager, responsible for managing mixed-use portfolios predominantly in the south-east. Dominic Gearon has been appointed senior surveyor and will be managing portfolios of residential blocks and developments, and he will also be involved in the expansion of the residential side of asset and facilities management. Lorraine Le Mare has also joined Knight Frank as a surveyor, and James Dobson has been appointed property manager to specifically work on the Plantation Wharf and Mount Vernon Developments.

Christopher Vickers CBE has been appointed by the College of Estate Management as its new chairman. A former senior partner of E C Harris and current chairman of the Construction Industry Board, Mr Vickers has strong links with the property and construction professions.

Jonathan Breeze has been appointed as senior maintenance administration officer for Richmond-upon-Thames Churches Housing Trust. He will act as a team leader responsible for the supervision and support of the trust's administration officers. He will also deal with service contracts, and handle landlord and tenant issues.

Harry Van Kempen has joined LCC support services to fulfil a new position as head of health, safety and training, for both LCC's own site operatives, area managers, and all client in-house cleaning managers. Harry's health and safety background spans around 25 years, and he has previously worked for RoSPA and the Trade Union Council.

Mel Barlex is the new director of facilities and Estates at London Guildhall University. Formerly of Anglia Polytechnic University, Mel will take up his new role in mid-January.
