Plans for a major new development at Brighton Marina – featuring a striking 40-storey tower – were submitted to Brighton & Hove council on Monday by Brunswick Developments.

The proposed £175m scheme has been designed by Wilkinson Eyre, the architect of the Gateshead Millennium Bridge.

The tower will include a public viewing gallery 420 feet above sea level as well as 990 new homes, 396 of which would be reserved for key workers.

The city’s planners are expected to take about four months to give their verdict.
