Pirelli Cables has condemned the trade in counterfeit electrical supplies and urged manufacturers to come together to put a stop to it
The company has called for talks to discuss the problem and to seek to put in place preventative measures to halt the manufacture of illegal and potentially fatal counterfeit goods.
Pirelli recently fell victim to the counterfeiters when cable appeared in an overseas market embossed with 'Pireli', as opposed to Pirelli. Samples were tested and proven to be substandard.
Jonathan Sloam, marketing manager for Pirelli Cables, says: "We'd be delighted to enter into discussions with our colleagues in the industry to see how we can work to tackle the problem of counterfeit goods."
