Point taken: Liverpool's Preston Point development (right) was highly commended in this year's Housing Design Awards.

The scheme, a conversion of two warehouses, was designed by Shed KM for Maritime Housing Association. The mixed commercial and residential sites include 80% shared ownership.

The Housing Design Awards are organised by the Royal Institute of British Architects, the Royal Town Planning Institute, the National House Building Council and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.
