The Metropolitan Police paid tribute to installers as the false alarm rate fell again. Annual false activations in London have now fallen from 290,000 to 85,000 over the past nine years.
The Met acknowledged the help officers receive from the installation sector at the annual Alarm Performance Awards, sponsored by BT redcare.
Commander Ron McPherson, head of the Communications Branch, said:
“By working in partnership with the alarms industry we can ensure police resources are directed at genuine activations. We have made considerable progress over recent years”.
The annual awards honour companies with the fewest false alarms in the capital.
Winners were:
Large companies – Gold, Banham; Silver, Chubb; Bronze, Secom
Medium companies – Gold, London East Security Centre; Silver, Tara; Bronze, Capstan
Small companies – Gold, Security Masters; Silver, Rampart Security; Bronze J.H. Crawford.
