A new internet site offers installers in different parts of the country the chance to pool together to get better deals on equipment.
SecurityXchange is a "trade only" site which is designed to "change the buying and selling patterns" in the industry.
Independent installers, who might not be affiliated to any of the existing installer purchasing groups, can become part of a pooled purchase scheme and take advantage of bulk ordering, says the site's Director, Carl Miller.
They can also buy items from different suppliers in one transaction, saving time and admin expense.
SecurityXchange offers registration without membership fees and is available 24 hours. Products bought include UK mainland delivery charges.
The site is currently registering new buyers and suppliers for its "go live" trading date in the Spring.
By the end of the year the site is expected to have 10,000 products, said Miller.
