The new powder coated finish, developed by DuPont and fire tested in accordance to London Underground Engineering standards, will now enable specifiers and fire door manufacturers to choose the option of colour co-ordinated hinges and doors, whilst maintaining full compliance with the EN standard.
The Monarch 2000 series of Supergrade hinges have been successfully type tested to EN 1935:2002 and achieved the maximum 250,000 cycle testing classification for insulated 30/60-minute fire doors, not exceeding 60kg in weight and 950mm in width.
To assist fire officers and building inspectors in ensuring positive identification and compliance to the standard, each hinge is clearly stamped with the relevant classification reference.
Supergrade hinges are available in two standard sizes, 102 x 76mm for thirty minute doors and 102 x 102mm for sixty minute doors. The company also offers bespoke options including rounded corners and non-standards screw configuration.
