Over 14 km of Metstrut's new cable ladder system is being installed in a flue gas desulphurisation plant being built at West Burton power station.
M&E contractor Lawton Electrical selected the product as Metstrut could meet the fast track manufacture and phased delivery requirements that were scheduled for the 13-month construction period of the plant.

Metstrut worked in partnership with the contractor to guarantee continuity of supply. The firm worked to a seven-day manufacture and delivery programme backed by balanced stockholding.

Metstrut's in-house technical team also helped to design the cable ladder system, adapting it as needed and manufacturing some sections with specialist bends to accommodate difficult angles.

In total 4670 lengths of 450 mm and 750 mm wide ladder rack will be used in the plant.

Danish firm FLS Miljo acted as project manager on the scheme.
