This issue of EMC sees a full-colour, double page advertisement for the ECA.
The innovative ECA ad campaign will raise awareness of the professionalism of members with specifiers and clients. It will also raise the profile of the Association and the benefits of membership.

The advertisements will appear in key trade and industry titles throughout 2002 and 2003.

The advertising campaign will provide a visual platform that complements the Association's other strategic activities.

Recently we have been working closely with the hvac, refrigeration and plumbing sectors in submitting an 'expression of interest' concerning the Government's plans to change some 75 National Training Organisations into 20 or 30 Sector Skills Councils (SSCs). The proposed SCC would cover over 500 000 individuals operating in 50 000 businesses with an annual turnover of nearly £20 billion.

The ECA also hosted the conference of the European Association of Electrical Contractors (AIE) on 12-14 September. The event examined the future role of the electrical contractor, as well as health and safety, technical and economic issues. It was of great help to exchange ideas with our European colleagues, underlining the benefits of pan-European co-operation and collaboration.
