1. Colour lighting system
Modular has launched Colourwash, a lighting system that offers over 250 individual saturated colours, to light walls, ceilings, floors or recessed spaces. This surface mounted lighting system uses long-life, low voltage halogen dichroic lamps. The modular system is available in 900 mm and 1200 mm lengths, which can be used to suit specific surface lengths. Each unit is supplied with lamps, dichroic colour filters and lens unit preassembled.

2. Long-life lamps
GE lighting has introduced the Starcoat Biax 2D T5 range of lamps. Available in 28 W and 38 W versions. These lamps will replace current wattage equivalent Biax 2D products and offer a 50% improvement in life to 15 000 hours, and 10% higher lumen output. They benefit from the T5 Starcoat technology to deliver colour rendering of CRI Ra 82 and enhanced lumen maintenance (over 85% of the initial lumen output at 12 000 hours).

3. Office lighting
The Vision series is the latest range to be launched by Ridi Lighting. Vision is a direct/indirect luminaire that has integral switching for independent adjustment of the downward and upward light, to ensure a comfortable balanced level of overall lighting. The result is a luminaire that can deliver high vertical light levels with a uniform spread of light throughout the space. Each luminaire in the series is fitted with an optimised white Pixelprint panel which creates a high degree of glare-free visual comfort. The panel has a metalised backing to improve downward light performance and maintainability.

4. Compact downlighters
The Elux Compact range from Fitzgerald Lighting has been extended to include a shallow horizontal downlighter, a wallwasher and mains version downlighter. The recessed shallow depth horizontal lamp and wallwasher downlighters are fitted with high quality anodised aluminium reflectors and allow quick installation using a simple spring bracket system. The Elux range is available in emergency and high frequency variants plus gold or chrome bezel rings.

5. Discrete leds
Forge Europa has introduced red, yellow and green high performance discrete leds for the traffic and video display market. The leds have intensities of around 5000 mcd to 7000 mcd with viewing angles of 10-15°. All production orders are bin coded for luminous intensity. While the majority of traffic applications will require the 5 mm narrow angle device, other package styles also offered are 3 mm and elliptical devices having wide viewing characteristics of 100°/50°.
