Construction portal Asite has signed a deal with Microsoft and Compaq to provide services on handheld computers.
Any Windows CE or iPAQ device will be able to access the full range of Asite services, including project management and electronic tendering.

Asite is also close to signing up another project management system for its service – to add to theBIW's Project Information Channel – and a partner to provide its logistics services.

Asite's public launch takes place on 6 June. Its development partners have been managing projects on it since March.

TheBIW.com has secured another £3m in funding. The investment will fund research, development and staff costs.
