Atkins staff member and wife amongst 13 British dead in accident
An Atkins assistant project manager and his wife were two of the 13 British victims of the Bahrain boat disaster.
Jason Brett and his wife Lucinda Lamb (who worked for property consultant DTZ) died in the horrific accident, during celebration of the topping out of the Bahrain World Trade Centre scheme. In total six Atkins members of staff lost their lives as well as three further relatives and friends. Three staff members survived the accident, which happened when a boat hosting the event overturned.
Atkins chief executive Keith Clarke has flown to Bahrain to offer support to relatives. He said: "The past 48 hours have been incredibly difficult for everybody within Atkins and we are still trying to come to terms with what has happened."
Atkins has 100 staff at its Bahrain office, which is located in Manama.
