NACORE UK is to launch its first Special Interest Group (SIG) to encourage discussions on real estate partnerships within the public and private sector.
The public sector led the way in 'revolutionising' procurement methods with the outsourcing of the Department for Work and Pensions (formerly the DSS) portfolio with a prime contract in 1998. The private sector has followed suit, with BT and Abbey National opting to use real estate partnerships.

'Interest in these partnerships is growing rapidly,' said Michael Evans, director of Jonathan Edwards Consulting. 'So it seems to us that those involved, both suppliers and occupiers, will welcome an independent forum that provides a means to explore the potential benefits of this approach'.

The first meeting of the Real Estate Partnerships SIG will be held on 23 October at the Congress Centre, Great Russell Street, London.
