Northcroft has been appointed QS on a project to reinvent a Grade II listed church in Onslow Square, Chelsea.

St Paul’s Church is currently being used as an administrative centre for the client, Holy Trinity Brompton. The interior of the church is to be remodelled and a new crypt created at basement level. After the restoration, the church will be a “modern and sustainable” place of worship and include a “family life centre”, theology centre, bookshop, leisure facilities and three residential units. The scheme is the first church job designed by architect Foster and Partners, most famous for its gleaming modern towers. Work will start in April next year and is due for completion in October 2008. The project team also includes Arup as structural engineer.
