The Government is preparing to formally announce the national roll out of the Quality Mark scheme following pilot studies in Birmingham and Somerset.
The formal announcement of the process is due to be made on 26 March at the Ideal Homes show in London. This is expected to confirm the response to a Parliamentary question on 12 March made by construction minister Brian Wilson in which he stated: "The Quality Mark is going to be rolled out across the country over a three to four year period. The progressive roll out will begin with urban areas in England and Wales and districts that have already demonstrated interest in the scheme."
Currently 154 firms have the Quality Mark, with around 240 more working towards approval.
