I totally agreed with Yvonne Hutchinson’s article on racism (14 January, page 20), but I would like to add that racism in London is also rife.
I moved from London in 2003 after 15 years in the capital and have personal experience of racism on public transport, in shops, at work and on pavements.
So if the government wants to do anything to create a just and equitable society, it needs to look into the roots of issues. Communities need more than policies, they need practical help to sort out and meet their basic needs.
