Secom plc has teamed up with Fujitsu Europe and TDSi to offer a cutting-edge ‘palm reading’ secure access solution

PalmSecure is said to be a ‘cutting-edge’ access control solution. Developed and launched by Secom plc in conjunction with Fujitsu Europe and TDSi, the end result effectively combines Fujitsu's PalmSecure product with TDSi's established access control systems to offer a biometric system suitable for specification by end users employed in the commercial, industrial and public sectors.

PalmSecure uses palm vein authentication to identify people. The technology is contactless, hygienic and non-invasive, and regarded as the most accurate system for public use because “forgery is impossible”.

Palm vein authentication suits a variety of applications such as access control to buildings or departments within them as well as computer networks, and can serve as an additional security layer for cash machines.
