A remotely monitored CCTV system installed by local installer Mac Vision is providing vital protection for the corporate offices of AD Aerospace in Preston Brook, Cheshire.
RemGuard Visual Management was signed-up by the company to deliver the remotely monitored CCTV service in a three-year deal which involves connection of AD Aerospace’s external and internal cameras/detectors to RemGuard’s Remote Video Response Centre (RVRC).
Providing vital protection for the AD Aerospace site out of working hours, the contract is part of a growing trend for this type of office development to select event-driven CCTV as their primary defence against criminal attack, says RemGuard.
Added Rob Davies, Marketing Manager at AD Aerospace: “It definitely makes sense to have a solution such as RemGuard’s keeping an eye on our site. Its flexibility - keyholders can even call up images from home - and the fact that events are visually confirmed means false alarm rates are extremely low and the service is considerably less expensive than more traditional options such as having a security guard.”
Mac Vision was responsible for conducting a security audit of AD Aerospace’s new site, fitting the CCTV cameras/detectors and RemGuard’s RemVu Aquila transmission equipment, to allow this all to be linked back to the RVRC.
AD Aerospace is itself no stranger to security, designing and manufacturing video systems for commercial aerospace to protect cockpit doors, monitor cargo holds and deter air rage.
Attacks trigger warning
In another recent remote monitoring contract, Stour Security installed event-driven CCTV to help protect a council depot in Leyland, Lancashire from out of hour attacks.
The large Moss Side depot run by South Ribble Borough Council is home to nearly 150 vehicles and plant as well as supporting offices and garages/workshops.
The remotely monitored CCTV service provided by RemGuard is used as an alternative to more conventional manned guarding or continuously recorded CCTV.
If an incident does occur at the depot, strategically placed detectors are triggered and images from on-site cameras are transmitted via ISDN line to RemGuard’s RVRC.
Derek Sutton, the Council’s Community Cleansing Services Manager, said in the past the depot had suffered from costly thefts and criminal damage including items being taken from vehicles, theft of diesel and batteries from vehicles.
Local installer Stour Security conducted an audit and suggested the remote monitoring solution would best meet requirements.
